We are no one special. We are not rich, we have not done some glorious deed, nor are we super successful by the worlds’ standards.
We are a husband, a wife, and little boy. We are a family trying to give a child a home.
I fell in love with a picture I saw online. This picture held a face; a beautiful little face, with chubby cheeks, and the only smile I’ve ever seen that could rival my son’s. I showed this picture to my husband, Ian, and I told him this child’s story. I watched him break in front of me, for this child in this one picture. Even my son was in love; he kept kissing the picture and cried when he accidentally closed it. It was in that moment that we both knew we were going to fight to bring this little one home; that this child, although we didn’t know how, was going to be a part of our family.
This was God’s mission, and He gave it to us.
His Mission, Our Home.
